- 6 oz frozen strawberries
- 4.5 oz frozen cherries
- 1.5 cups apple juice
Topping
- 1 tbsp butter,
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- 2 tbsp oats
Make the topping first so it is prepared when the smoothie is done. Combine oats, coconut sugar, and butter in a small bowl, then set aside.
Measure frozen fruit and juice, then put inside the blender. Blend on high for a minute or until combined and smooth.
Pour into 2 glasses and serve with oat crumble on top.
- I like to use coconut sugar for a non-refined sugar option. If you don't have this, you can substitute with brown sugar.
- For a dairy free topping, you can substitute coconut oil for butter. If you are gluten free, make sure to check the oats you are using carefully. I like using Trader Joe's rolled oats as these are gluten free.
- I used a vitamix to blend this smoothie. This is a great option for frozen fruit smoothies.
- For a thicker smoothie, add a little less apple juice.
