Strawberries and grapes taste so good together. Lately I have been trying strawberries in a lot of different smoothie combinations, and this is one of my faves! (Although I also love my strawberry cherry smoothie as well. And if you REALLY love strawberries you might want to check out these muffins).

Ingredients

Frozen Strawberries – these add flavor but also thicken up the smoothie.

Grapes – I used red seedless grapes. This gives the smoothie a great flavor, pairing well with the strawberries and also adding more sweetness!

Grape juice – this intensifies the sweetness and grape flavor in the smoothie. It provides the liquid (no milk or yogurt needed!)

Oats – adding a tablespoon of oats gives the smoothie more texture and protein. You don’t have to add them in, but I highly recommend it! If needed, you can use gluten free oats.

How to Make a Strawberry Grape Smoothie

It is extremely simple to make a strawberry grape smoothie for yourself at home. Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1:

Add all the ingredients to the blender (I use a vitamix)

Step 2:

Blend on high until smooth.

Step 3:

Taste and adjust to your liking. For example, if your fruit was really sour you can add a teaspoon of maple syrup, or if you like a thicker smoothie, you can add more strawberries.

It is sure to be a crowd pleaser on a hot day! I will definitely be serving this to my family and friends come summertime.

Customizing your smoothie

If you don’t have the ingredients listed on hands, there are a variety of ways you can customize this smoothie to make it your own!

  • Try adding yogurt for a creamier smoothie (if you can have dairy)
  • use different grape varieties
  • use fresh strawberries (if you do this, just add a few ice cubes to thicken it up!)
  • omit the oats or add more depending on the texture you like
  • add additional fruits like pineapple, raspberries, or apple

These are just a few ideas! Feel free to customize to your liking.

Questions About Strawberry & Grape Smoothies

I thought I would finish this post by answering some common questions about smoothies that use strawberries and grapes.

Do strawberries and grapes go together?

Yes, the flavor of strawberries and grapes really does pair well together! You will definitely find that out if you try this smoothie. The tartness of the strawberries and sweetness of the grapes makes for a delicious combination!

Can grapes be frozen for smoothies?

Yes, they certainly can! I used fresh grapes in this smoothie, but you could use frozen as well. This would make the smoothie thicker. You could add more liquid to make it thinner like the recipe, or not if you like the thicker texture.

Can you put grapes with seeds in a smoothie?

Yes, grape seeds are perfectly fine to eat. However, I don’t love the texture this gives a smoothie, so I stuck with red seedless grapes for this recipe. I love the way it turned out!

Can you eat grapes and yogurt together?

Yes, you definitely can! I opted to leave yogurt out of this smoothie to make it dairy-free, but if you like yogurt you can add it in without a problem.

Can this be a grape-strawberry-banana smoothie?

If you want to add banana to this smoothie, that is perfectly fine! Adding a ripe, fresh banana will add creaminess to the smoothie. If you want to add frozen banana, you may need to add more liquid. I left out the banana simply because it tended to overpower the grape flavor.

What blender did you use?

This is a strawberry grape vitamix smoothie. I use my vitamix for all my smoothie recipes, and this one is no exception! It works so well for blending frozen fruit.
